Prevention made the difference at Fricon, which despite the current Covid-19 outbreak managed to keep workers fully employed, applying the DGS guidelines, adjusting production schedules, reinforcing hygiene and individual protection measures, as well as such as the disinfection of factory and office facilities.
In addition, there was an involvement on the part of the business community which allowed for greater mutual assistance and sharing of experiences, providing support and coordination among all in order to avoid spread, thus protecting all elements of the various business groups.
All of these measures, which are mandatory and important, imply higher costs than usual under normal conditions, however they manage to be overcome due to thoughtful management and oriented towards moments of lower national and international economic growth.
In the most critical phase due to the strategy adopted, it was possible not to resort to the lay-off in the national production units, because due to the reinforcement of the investment made, it allowed to bear the extra costs and keep the operation running.
We also concluded that acting quickly helped in this process and that prevention made the difference by preventing the spread of the virus in the company and region, by the team members.
